NEW SINGLE ALERT: Some songs try too hard. This one doesn’t. Allan Peterson writes Texas country the way it used to sound in a packed dancehall — stories, steel, and a groove you can actually two-step to. Raised on Elvis, Strait, and a beat-up Airline guitar his dad handed him, he spent years on Texas stages with his brother in Fire Mountain, opening for the likes of Toby Keith, Gene Watson, and Gary Stewart. Then he came home to Burleson and kept writing. The new single, “A Little Less Giddy Up,” drops in October If you’ve been waiting on a country song that grins a little, tells the truth, and doesn’t oversell the ride — this is it. Stream it October 1.
